Meet Sharlynn Jenkins.

Her story

Sharlynn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology Cum Laude, along with a Certificate of Excellence in Hypnotherapy. She specializes in facilitating behavior change, recognizing that for many individuals, such transformations often occur reluctantly, if at all. In her practice of hypnotherapy, Sharlynn skillfully guides clients away from previous suggestions that may have been introduced during highly emotional times. By identifying and removing these suggestions from the subconscious, she helps clients break automatic and uncritical responses, paving the way for positive change.

Misconceptions
of Hypnosis

Many people perceive hypnosis as either a lighthearted entertainment or a potentially risky practice that can manipulate individuals against their will. However, it's essential to clarify what hypnosis is and isn't.

Hypnosis, in essence, is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. Contrary to popular misconceptions, a hypnotist cannot force anyone to do anything against their will. The individual undergoing hypnosis retains full control over their actions and can only follow suggestions if they are willing to do so.

In my practice, I emphasize empowerment and positive reinforcement. Through hypnosis, individuals can tap into their innate potential and discover their ability to achieve greatness. It's not about mystical control or manipulation but rather about harnessing the power of the subconscious mind to promote positive change.

Hypnosis can serve as a useful tool for marketing or demonstration purposes, helping to demystify the practice and alleviate fears. It's important for people to understand that hypnosis is not about losing control but rather about gaining insight and control over one's thoughts and behaviors.

Unlike meditation, which aims to clear the mind, hypnosis works by providing suggestions to the subconscious to foster productivity, relaxation, and even deep sleep. Even in a state of deep relaxation or sleep, the mind remains receptive to positive suggestions and can continue to process information.

Overall, hypnosis is a safe and effective practice when conducted by a trained professional. It offers a means for individuals to harness their inner resources and unlock their potential for positive change.

Who is a candidate for hypnosis?

Everyone is a potential candidate for hypnosis. In fact, we experience hypnotic states multiple times a day without even realizing it. Whether we're daydreaming, engrossed in a computer or TV screen, or caught up in the excitement of a sporting event, we are all susceptible to hypnotic influence. However, the key factor is consent - you must be open to the experience for it to occur. Belief in hypnotherapy isn't necessary; what matters is your willingness to participate.

Analytical individuals might initially struggle to embrace hypnosis due to concerns about losing control. However, my experience has shown that once someone grants permission, I can guide them into a hypnotic state. Importantly, even when hypnotized, individuals remain fully in control and can terminate the process at any time.

My techniques are designed to reassure clients of their safety and empower them to achieve their goals through active participation. Patience is crucial; hypnosis often requires time to take effect, but with openness and patience, remarkable changes can occur.

“Sharlynn totally helped me kick the nail-biting habit. She's an amazing listener and was full of awesome suggestions. It's like she really gets you, you know? I felt understood and totally normal around her. Plus, she also helped me tackle this hair-pulling thing I've struggled with for ages. After our sessions, I felt super encouraged and proud of myself. She's the real deal! ”
